Winter. 1998. Canada. Niagara Falls. Still a university student, D makes his first bet at a casino table game, taking advantage of Canada’s legal gambling age of 18. Total winnings of $35 Canadian are virtually worthless but leave a lasting memory.  The entire winnings are spent within an hour at a local Canadian restaurant. D's conditional reflexes are thus affected for the rest of his life, keeping up with a time honored tradition established by Pavlov's dogs, he feels a mild nudge of hunger every time he enters a large casino...

                2003. New York City, USA. A telephone conversation takes place between D. and J. during which they want to share what they believe to be a winning casino strategy with each other, only to find out it is the same one. Both friends realize that they do not actually have any good resources for choosing the best casino to visit next. Majority of websites they surf on their quest are full of unsolicited pop-up ads, and are not very user friendly.

·                 2004.  New York City, USA. D. spends several weeks studying different betting strategies, and reading betting advice online.  He singles out the Martingale system as promising, and buys a real-size roulette wheel to try it at home over a period of few more weeks. Most important discovery:  When applied in practice 95% of gambling advice available on the internet today is a SURE way to lose!

·                 June 2005.  New York City. USA. D. finds several betting patterns that do not lose as much money as other systems. He keeps testing them with a roulette wheel until finding a major weakness in the original martingale system. At the same time he realizes that the most difficult part of playing well is psychological, as on his next trip to Atlantic City, at a roulette table he witnesses scores of people with seemingly equal odds play, lose and leave within minutes.

·                 August 2005. New York City, USA. J. gets a Masters degree from NYU graduating with honors.  This is soon followed by a marriage to his long time girlfriend. Winalways.com domain is registered, but it has not yet developed into a website. Authors finally learn the rules of craps. They are amazed at how no one has come up with an easy explanation of this seemingly incomprehensible game. D. writes an easy to understand explanation.

                  September 2005, Las Vegas, Nevada. D shares his findings with J, and two of them fly to NV to apply their ideas in practice. Initially they win a few hundred dollars, but their ideas on betting still have several flaws, so they ultimately lose almost everything they won during the first few days of the trip. D. has a very tough time finding a father's day gift, as he runs out of all original ideas, and another tool set just seems a little boring.  He wishes there was a store that offered casino-themed gifts with a good selection to choose from.

·                 January 2006. New York, N.Y.  D comes up with an improvement which makes the player’s odds approximately equal to those of the house.  D. and J. make the first net profit over $1000, and register CHARGE LLC, the parent company of winalways.com. They initially envision this site as a project for their own and their friends' personal use, so that information about casinos and field trips could be exchanged freely in a friendly environment.

·                 October 2006. Staten Island, NY. J. comes up with a second improvement to the system, which makes a player’s position safer, and brings the player's odds slightly above those of a Casino. D’s and J’s net annual profits from gambling exceed $3000 each.  D earns a Master’s of Science in mathematics from SJU, graduating with honors. His Master’s thesis is on application of the laws of probability.

                  September 2007. New York, N.Y.  Having tried their strategy in casinos around the world, including Connecticut, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and various hot spots in Europe, the authors bring their earnings to new heights since beginning of their quest for a better casino experience, but at the same time they are too busy with work to make regular trips the way they used to. Winalways.com website is up, and features easy to understand rules of craps and other table games which seem puzzling even to many casino going gamblers.

February 2008. New York, N.Y. Winalways.com expands and becomes more entertainment oriented.
